I'm a steak snob! Unfortunately, this means that the steaks in many restaurants just don't cut it for me. However, Hunter's Pub has EXCELLENT STEAKS!! The homemade steak sauce is divine and the mash potatoes are by far, something to write home about! ;p The staff is always very friendly and make you feel right at home! Low-key atmosphere & delicious! One of my Absolute Favorites!!! :) Evelyn Forston

The food is amazing. Go for the steaks, fried lobster tails, fish specials, and the peanut butter pie. I have never tried the burgers or sandwiches and never will. widespreadhead *

I lived in Columbus, GA and also in NC for over 4 years. The Hunter's Pub is Awesome!!! I travel most of the time and eat at a lot of fine places. Del Frisco's, Mortons, Ruth's Chris and the like... My fav is the Hunter's Pub!!! It is not shiny and quite so if you are a Candy [--], go to Applebees. If you like great steak and ICE COLD BEER and do not mind low ceilings and some noise.... THIS IS YOUR HUCKLEBERRY!!! Our CEO from San Francisco demanded the pub each time he visited. The fried baby lobster tails are a must!!! Check it out!!! You will not be sorry, unless you are the Appleby crowd!!! Backroadryder*

My traveling companion had information on this place, but it was also confirmed by some locals. This was the place for steak. Cooked perfectly. It came with a nice helping of decent mashed potatoes and green beans. The staff were great. Very helpful in helping us choose. Even brought me a serving of peanut butter pie gratis after I showed distaste at such a dessert. It was okay, but I guess I am just not a PB pie type of guy. But hey, it was free.Be Forewarned, the place is very small and tucked in the middle of no where. It is very easy to drive by it and not know you passed it. And, by 7 p.m. there was line out the door. grrprr*

I went to this place on the recommendation of a friend. When we got there they said it would be a "few minutes" and we should should wait outside. 45 minutes later in 20 degree weather, they said it would be a few more minutes. Note that there is not a place to wait inside the restaurant, so a little accuracy with how long it will be would have been appreciated. Finally we were seated in what may have been the loudest table in existence. The whole restaurant is a low ceilinged room. It's impossible to hear anyone you're with (and this was on a Wednesday night). So we finally get a chance to order our food, which is what's supposed to be great about this restaurant. The salad comes out first, and it's clearly iceberg lettuce from a bag. The ranch dressing is hidden valley they've mixed up in little cups to disguise the fact it's the crap you get in packets at Wal-Mart. Ok so at least the steak was good, right? No, no, not at all. The steak I ordered was a rib eye, and it was atrocious quality. I sincerely doubt it was USDA prime or select. Very fatty and chewy (ordered medium rare). The potatoes were overcooked to the point of being mushy. The worst part is for two people with no drinks and one appetizer you pay about $60 including tip. To eat in a barn. Where you can't hear anyone. With terrible food. And no place to wait out of the weather. Do yourself a favor, and just incinerate the money you would have spent here. You'll be much happier. noorct*

My husband and I go to Hunter's Pub as often as we can they have the best steaks around. And I never liked onions, but their onion rings dipped in ranch dressing is wonderful. If you have not been there you have to make a point to go. Everyone that we have taken there has been back. djwat*
